The realism that an authentic video clip can add to a story maybe it is in the form of a documentary, a project, website or a commercial is hard to replace by anything else. Not only does it look more real but also more interesting and engrossing. While it is very difficult or at times out of question to think of shooting a video yourself, this is where stock footage can offer valuable videos which make your story complete.

When can you look towards stock footage for the video that you want? The fact is, if you are looking for High Definition video for commercial purposes, even if what you require is a simple video clip which is very much possible to be shot on your own, it is better to use a stock footage video clip. The reason being, the quality of video that you shoot may never match the perfection that you get in the HD video that is available in stock footage simply because specialization matters. Also the amount of time and money spent on this purpose may far exceed what you may be expecting. It is not an easy task to get the right location, actors, camera people and several other things in place before you start off with the shoot. It is both a time consuming as well as a costly affair. If the purpose behind doing it yourself is to save on costs, you may end up spending far more than you expected and even then you are not sure of the resulting video. Stock footage offers you a range of videos to see, analyze and choose from and you can decide what best suits your requirements.

This is just half the story. The more significant part that brings out the need and importance of stock footage is the fact that you also have the option of choosing video clips that are unthinkable to reproduce. As a simple example, say for a story on European football meaning soccer can you expect to shoot a penalty shot you need from a specific player or to be more specific you need the video of a goal that has special significance in what looks like a big international match. On the other hand, you have a range of sports footage video clips to choose from. You can get a collection of video clips from several eras. It is almost impossible to get such coverage without video clips from sports footage archives. This is where stock footage can impart life to your story by adding a tint of reality to it. Not only this, the video clips are shot with professional methodology with the cameras positioned at the right angles giving a complete view of the player’s action.

Similarly, there are various categories of stock footage under which you can find videos covering a wide range of subjects like sports, wildlife and dozens of other fields. The Internet is without doubt the best place to start your search for stock footage. You will come across many companies who offer stock footage for commercial use. Rest, you will have to put in a little effort to choose the right video clips to make your project flawless.

Thought Equity Motion increases the value of video content through its advanced technology platform and licensing services. The company delivers large scale archive management and “smart content” metadata tools as a cloud service, providing greater control with reduced cost and complexity. Thought Equity Motion also offers rights development expertise, enabling media rights holders to generate new value from their content.

The two most common martial arts practiced in North America are karate and tae kwon do. Many wonder what the difference between these two styles is. This is especially the case for those who are just starting to look around for a studio. After all, most practitioners in both disciplines seem to wear the same type of white gi uniforms with various colored belts.

Modern traditional karate was developed in the islands of Okinawa in Japan after some influences from Chinese martial arts. There are actually different styles of karate but they are all commonly considered as Japanese styles today. The colored belt system was developed to show the various ranks of karate practitioners with white depicting novices and black belts (with various degrees) representing instructor levels and higher. There is a whole range of other different colors in between. Modern tae kwon do was developed in Korea after much influence from Japanese karate during the occupation by Japan. Indeed, tae kwon do is sometimes referred to as Korean karate. The Koreans adopted similar white uniforms along with a colored belt ranking system for tae kwon do.

It can be generalized that in karate, one would use their arms or hands for 60% of the time for strikes or blocks while the use of legs for kicking will be about 40%. This breakdown is seen in the many forms or katas of karate which are set routines which simulate fighting against imaginary opponents using martial arts techniques. The forms from tae kwon do would have the opposite percentage breakdown with 40% hands and 60% legs. There is also more emphasis on higher kicks to the head level than in karate. Practitioners also utilize more jumping or flying kicks where one is airborne while executing kicking techniques. The Korean forms or patterns are generally a bit shorter and less complex than the karate forms. Some tae kwon do schools have been known to use the odd karate form in its curriculum as well.

In North America as well as other parts of the world, there are separate traditional competitions for karate and tae kwon do. However, the open martial arts tournaments in North America often have competitors from both disciplines competing together. Some of the larger open martial arts competition events will have separate forms divisions for Japanese and Korean style competitors but the fighting or sparring divisions will usually be combined. Many black belts end up studying both styles. Tae kwon do has received more publicity in recent years since its introduction as an Olympic sport. The style and rules used for the Olympic version fighting comes from the World Federation (WTF). Both karate and tae kwon do are considered as hard style martial arts in North America today (as opposed to soft styles such as the many versions of Chinese kung fu).

Most people think of “kung fu” as “Chinese martial arts,” although the term “wushu” more properly applies to the physical aspects of this kind of sport. It combines centuries of Oriental martial arts traditions with ancient Chinese philosophy. It may involve combat with or without weapons, although it is more often practiced as an exercise or for meditation.

Kung Fu is not one specific style of martial arts. Rather, it is a series of ancient sects of Chinese fighting. Similar to Japanese martial arts, the varying styles of kung fu take inspiration from philosophy, logic, and the movements of animals.
The literal meaning of kung fu is that of a person who has achieved his goal through long and hard work. The implication of this is that if you work hard at your kung fu, you will find balance and meaning in your life. There are many internal and external benefits of kung fu: self defense, personal growth, and health are the main reasons for an ongoing practice.

Though Japan’s martial arts styles are more popular in America, the Chinese styles are many and go back thousands of years. As with most things Chinese, the northern and southern styles differ greatly. The southern style is focused more on strong arms and a fluidity of movements, where the Northern style utilizes more sharp power in jump kicks and quick actions. Most kung fu schools in America mix a few Chinese styles and do not differentiate which sub-school they are practicing as is common with karate forms.

Weaponry is an important part of any kung fu practice. In addition to the forms or series (commonly known as kata in karate), and sparring practice, kung fu is known for its use of myriad weapons. Students are trained to see the weapon not as an object but as an extension of themselves. Weapons are used more regularly in forms than in sparring, though advanced students do occasionally spar with weapons.

Sumo wrestlers are fighters who don’t posses muscular physiques and do not practice a regular athlete’s training routine. All sumo wrestlers maintain their weight to be as possibly heavy as they can, making people wonder what could have made them fast with that kind of weight on them. The answer to that is their way of training and their unique fight diet. Gaining weight is very important for a sumo wrestler. They treat weight gain as part of their training for there are no weight divisions or weight limits in this sport. They can basically be as heavy as they want them to be. Actually, a Sumo wrestler’s daily calorie intake can reach as much as 8,000 kilo calories which is more than twice the calorie intake of an average male.

These kind of fighters starts their day at around 5:00 in the morning going directly to the place wherein they start they training with an empty stomach. They believe that strenuous training with an empty stomach is an advantage in the effort of gaining weight. It helps slow down the body’s metabolism making it more difficult to burn calories.

Around 11:00 in the morning, fighters take in their first meal of the day. For an average person, you can call it a feast for they are served with many different meats, vegetables and fish. It is a pretty big meal for they must eat and eat for them to gain weight. They call this meal a “Chankonabe” and practically, anything can go into chankonabe. This meal is very rich in protein and served with other side dishes. By not eating overnight and doing training first thing in the morning, a Sumo wrestler’s body is turned in to a fat storing mode. They can basically eat anything and everything what is served infront of them. Sumo wrestlers sit forming a circle while they eat 5 kilos of meat and a minimum of ten bowls of rice in one sitting.

Right after a heavy meal, they are instructed to go directly back to their bedrooms to take a long nap. By doing this, it helps sumo wrestlers to effectively gain weight faster as all the foods are being stored as fat in their body.

Around 6:00 to 7:00 in the evening, these fighters would come back to the dining table – yes, for dinner. One may say that such fight diet regimen and habits are unhealthy. It may be true as Sumo wrestlers usually die at an earlier age as compared with an average adult male. Obesity is a risk factor for different ailments, diseases and complications that can wear out body.

Though it has not been proven scientifically why such fighters die early, they still live on what they believe, continuing the tradition that is being passed on from generations to generations. Sumo wrestlers believe that these are the methods, the fight diet and habits that they need to follow to become great fighters.

Krav Maga is a no-nonsense fighting system developed for and used by the Israeli military forces, and it has been adopted by law enforcement personnel, the military and security services all around the world. It has also become a popular self defense system for civilians. The reason it is so widely adopted is simple: it works. When you train in Krav Maga you learn basic moves and techniques that are intended to stop your attacker as quickly as possible, and at the same time minimize any injury to yourself.

It’s fun to watch an extremely talented martial artist like Chuck Norris roundhouse-kick the bad guys on television, but if you want to learn how to defend yourself from attack in a range of everyday situations you should consider learning Krav Maga. This is especially important for women, who may find themselves under threat from a much larger male.

You will learn simple, instinctual striking techniques that were designed to work in real life close combat, and how to defend yourself in varied situations and from different positions. For example: defending yourself while behind the wheel of your car, or when seated in a bar or public place, or when grabbed in a deserted street.

Krav Maga techniques include punches, basic kicks, strikes using knees and elbows, and you will learn how to adapt everyday articles into makeshift self defense tools.

Equally important, when training in this system you will learn how to handle the stress of a real attack. Sadly, many traditional martial artists have found out the hard way that all their training did not work when attacked by a common street thug.

If you want to learn proven techniques that may just save your life, you owe it to yourself to learn Krav Maga.

Women are possibly the most common victims of violence, be it domestic abuse, a mugging or the criminal rapist and this is no time for a woman to find out that her skill levels for survival are sadly lacking if this happens. It stands to reason this could happen, it could be as simple as being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

So learning self-defense skills and being prepared for the worst scenario, not only will you gain physical empowerment from training in martial arts, it also provides you with mental and spiritual empowerment.

Women’s Martial Arts training also teaches confidence, patience and anger management and prepares you in good stead in case an emergency ever arises. It can provide you with a more level playing field.

When you first start training even warm-up exercises may have you fatigued, but knowing that the end result will be well worth all the time and effort that you are putting forth, you will soon see clearly how important self-defense training is. While training is not effortless, it is essential and learning to protect oneself should be a part of woman’s everyday life.

Women’s Martial Arts is great for physical fitness and a great way to lose weight and tone the body. It will help in strengthening muscles while gaining flexibility. It also helps woman gain self-confidence which makes them feel and look more attractive.

The benefits to women are too numerous to count. Not only does martial arts teach women to defend themselves when they need it, martial arts helps women look and feel better in the process.

On the obvious level, martial arts provide a means of self defense against violent crime. It’s a great confidence booster if the techniques for fighting back can be learned.

Women’s Martial Arts is not about getting aggressive, it’s about knowing how to keep out of harm’s way, so for women who are the usual targets of assaults, get involved with a good program and learn the skills of being able to defend yourselves.

Many people think that Karate came from Korea or China, this is not true. Although many styles did originate from these two areas, quite a few styles developed in other countries as well. The word Karate has been associated with any type of Martial Arts in the western world, and thanks to a few martial arts actors, have made the western world rush to learn any form of Karate that they could.

Japan and Okinawa developed their own form of Karate, with some changes being made from one instructor to another. Some styles have even been developed in the United States.

Originally Karate got its start in China, in the 16th century but the development of Karate started when Okinawan travelers began visiting China and were so enthused with this ancient style of fighting, that they learned the techniques and once they became masters of the Chinese Martial Arts, and in the 20th century these travelers went back to Japan and began teaching Karate to the solders, using the styles that they had learned and also made some changes of their own.

Today there are hundreds of different types all throughout the world. Karate is not just restricted to Oriental fighting techniques, in France, there is a form called, Savate, this style was first used in Marseille, and is a method of using kicks. Savate uses the feet and legs for both striking and blocking. It has become a form of today’s kickboxing.

Krav Maga is a method of self-defense that was developed in Israel, and practiced by the entire Israeli Army; it has become quite popular in the United States.1,000 years ago, India developed a form of Karate, called Pentjak Silat, which used forms of martial arts mixed with some mystic powers, magic, and healing. Pentjak Silat has now spread the Indonesian Islands.

Sambo is an ancient Russian self-defense art. It is used with the Russian Elite Special Forces, and consists of many striking, kicking and defense.
Sumo dates back to the 8th century and originally was held as ceremonies in the Imperial Court. It used the techniques of both boxing and wrestling. The competitors usually weight 100′s of pounds (kg), but as time passed throughout the centuries, it has become a very popular sport in Japan.

Kickboxing is an exciting, high intensity workout. The sport combines two different types of martial arts – Tae Kwon Do and Mauy Tai with aerobics to create a face paced workout with numerous benefits and little equipment to purchase. Most gyms offer kickboxing classes and there are special schools that specialize in it.

When you begin kickboxing, you should wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing that allows you the flexibility of movement required for the sport. You can kickbox barefoot or you can purchase special martial arts shoes. You can use hand wraps and gloves, but they are not required. Most classes will supply any equipment that you need, such as speed bags, gloves and jump ropes, so you wont have to worry about that. Before you begin, you should evaluate your current fitness level. If this is the first time in quite a while that you are participating in a sport or workout, you should check with your doctor to ensure that your health is good.

Kickboxing is such a great sport because it combines so many areas of fitness. After a few weeks of classes, you will begin to notice changes in the tone and feel of your body. You will be breathing easier due to the aerobic aspects of the sport. You will notice an improvement in your hand eye coordination and in your reaction time. What sets this apart from other workouts, is that you will learn some self defense moves and techniques which can help protect you.

Tae Kwon do is well known around the world for being a martial art and having its quick, lightning fast, high amazing kicks. Sparring, break test, self defense and patters are the 4 disciplines of the martial art of Tae Kwon do. It is not anyone of these alone that make this martial art but the combination of them put together. For anyone wanting to get further with a belt grade, all 4 of these disciplines are of importance. Certain tests are needed to be passed if a student wants to advance in belt grade.

Importantly one of the good things about Tae Kwon Do is that there are no age limits and this art can be learned by young children. Children can learn respect, and quickly learn fast reactions playing games and be able to concentrate on there disabilities as well as there abilities.

In reference to areas of competition, it is different for children then adults in the sense that, although full body protection is worn, children are only allowed to kick and punch to the body and no blows to the head are allowed. Competitions are very important when it comes to this martial art and it is a dominant reason why a lot of students take up this art.

The competitions can be very interesting to witness as they get extremely competitive. In spite of what a lot of people think the competitions are not lethal, and don’t get anywhere close to being as deadly as the Muay Thai fights. Full protection is worn during these fights, including protective head gear. Adults are allowed to practice kicks to the head although most stylists can block these before the strikes connect.

All things taken into consideration Tae Kwon do is a very good martial art. The art of blocking, kicking and punching are well known for the exciting and spectacular movements they produce. This fighting art is very popular and well known throughout the world, so there is just as many places for this to be taught and learned as much as karate. For those who take up this art they will not be disappointed, Tae Kwon do teaches self defense and a whole lot more.
